Peer evaluation of BLQS by APLAC

Peer evaluation of BLQS by APLAC

BLQS is a signatory to the Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA) for testing laboratory, medical laboratory, and reference material producers. In order to maintain these signatory statuses, BLQS must operate in accordance with ISO/IEC 17011 and mandatory requirements set out by APLAC and ILAC. The bodies evaluate BLQS at least once every four years to ensure that the relevant criteria are met.

The latest APLAC peer evaluation of BLQS was conducted in February 2018. The peer evaluation teams comprised 3 members from Canada, Sri Lanka and the United States of America, who are all experienced assessors in their accreditation bodies. The evaluation covered all accreditation activities of BLQS under the APLAC MRA and ILAC MRA. During the evaluation, evaluators not only assessed the management system and operation of BLQS at the office, but also witnessed a number of assessments at different laboratories, medical laboratories and reference material producers.
